Michael Hanson has served as an Athletic Performance Coach at The University of Texas since February of 2018, working with Rowing for the entirety of his time at Texas. During this time he has helped Texas win national championships in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Additionally, he’s trained Men’s and Women’s Swimming, and Track & Field while coaching at Texas. Prior to Texas, Mike interned at the University of Minnesota, the University of Michigan, and the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, having the privilege of coaching a variety of athletes across 20+ sports. While earning his M.Ed. at the University of Minnesota, Mike coached professional and collegiate hockey players in the greater Twin Cities area.
